STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern men's soccer graduate Thor Sveinbjornsson has been named one of the six Sun Belt Conference Postgraduate Scholarship Award Winners, announced today by conference officials.
Sveinbjornsson will receive a $3,000 scholarship towards his master's degree in accounting, which he is currently pursuing at Georgia Southern.
A four-year standout on the field for the Eagles, Sveinbjornsson was a four-time Sun Belt Conference Academic honoree as well as earning 2014 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year honors. A 2014 All-Sun Belt selection, he played in 58 career matches in the midfield at Georgia Southern, tallying two goals and five assists in his more than 3,500 minutes on the pitch.
