STATESBORO, Ga.- The Georgia Southern track and field team is back in action this weekend for the third time this spring, competing in the Samford Open in Birmingham, Alabama, Feb. 12-13. The Eagles go up against 41 teams in the Birmingham CrossPlex with two events on Friday evening-- the 200m dash and the 5000m-- and the rest on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
"We're really excited about going into Birmingham. Birmingham is going to be the site of the Conference Championships and this will be some of the ladies' first times to get a chance to actually see the venue," head coach Kelly Carter said.
