STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Baseball Head Coach Rodney Hennon has named his starting rotation for the opening series of the year, a three-game set at Georgia. Evan Challenger will get the ball for the season opener, reprising his role as Friday night starter for 2016. A pair of freshmen will take to the bump in the final two games with Chase Cohen getting the nod for Saturday's 1 p.m. game while Brian Eichhorn will go on Sunday.
Challenger was named Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference after going 5-3 in 2015 on his return from injury.
