TUSCON, ARIZ. - Georgia Southern's two-sport phenom Seth Shuman was named to Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's Freshman All-American Team on Wednesday morning. The native of Valdosta, Georgia split his spring between Georgia Southern's Football and Baseball squads, making 14 appearances and nine starts on the mound.
Shuman recorded an 8-0 overall record with one save in his freshman campaign. He led the Georgia Southern starting rotation with a 3.34 ERA in 56.2 innings of work. He struck out 49 batters with just 17 walks this year.
Splitting time between Eagle Football and Baseball, Shuman was consigned to a midweek starting role where he picked up four wins in the season's first three months.
