Men's golf wins tournament stroke play, falls in semifinals of match play in Sun Belt Championship

The Georgia Southern men’s golf team traveled to Sandestin, Florida to compete in the Sun Belt Championship tournament where they won stroke play, but were knocked out in the semifinals after falling to the University of Louisiana-Monroe in match play on Wednesday.

The Eagles shot a school record score of 263 as a team and finished 21-under-par in the third round, as well as shooting a total team score of 821, finishing 31-under-par overall.

The Eagles found success as a team as well as finding success individually on the links.

After a one-hole playoff with Luka Maglic of Arkansas State University in the third round, senior Steven Fisk was able to claim the individual medalist honor after shooting 75, 61 and 66, respectively.
