ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Jake Maples posted a 68, Mason Williams shot a 69 and the Georgia Southern men's golf team fired the second-lowest team score of the day to tie for second at the Spartan Collegiate at Sea Island Plantation Course Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles (-12) shot 7-under today to tie Notre Dame and finish seven strokes clear of Kansas State and eight ahead of Northwestern, Michigan State and Ohio State. Keyed by a 66 and a 65 today, Iowa (-13) fired an 11-under 277 to move three spots up the leaderboard and win the event.
