NEW ORLEANS, La. – Junior guard Angel McGowan has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week by the conference office after picking up the same recognition by College Sports Madness on Monday.
A junior from Greenville, S.C., McGowan led the Georgia Southern women's basketball team to a pair of wins last week over Savannah State and Jacksonville State with 45 total points (22.5 per game average), seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in 70 total minutes of work.
