Lunsford’s success rewarded with contractual incentives

Tuesday marks a year since Chad Lunsford was officially named head coach of the Georgia Southern football team. In his initial contract, it read that Lunsford would make an annual base salary of $650,000 with an $85,000 buyout.

Later in the contract, there are incentives and bonuses if the team does well. With the team having success this year, several different bonuses will appear on his inaugural head coaching paycheck.

The first incentive that Lunsford succeeded is $6,000 if the team wins seven games. The seventh game was won with a victory over Appalachian State on Oct.
