STATESBORO - Texas State softball scored four runs in the sixth inning to erase a 1-0 deficit and collect a 5-1 Sun Belt Conference victory over host Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon at Eagle Field.
The Bobcats improved to 28-17 overall and 12-8 in the Sun Belt with the win, while Georgia Southern falls to 9-28 overall and 4-13 in the league. The two teams will wrap up their three-game Sun Belt series on Sunday with an 11 a.m. first pitch.
Georgia Southern opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning as Courtney Ball reached on a one-out triple, then came home on Jess Mazur's RBI single.
