Jaguars Notch 69-53 Sun Belt Win Over GS Women's Basketball

STATESBORO - South Alabama held Georgia Southern women's basketball to just 21 points in the first half en route to a 69-53 Sun Belt Conference victory over the host Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Hanner Fieldhouse.

The Jaguars (14-3, 3-3 SBC) claimed their second straight win, while the Eagles (5-12, 0-6 SBC) saw their current slide reach seven games.

Two days after scoring 81 points against Troy, Georgia Southern struggled from the field against the Sun Belt's top defensive unit. The Eagles shot just 25% from the field (6-of-24) before halftime as South Alabama led by 10, 31-21, at the break.
