After a 10-win season football Head Coach Chad Lunsford’s contract has been re-worked and extended through 2023- adding a one-year extension to his previous contract.
Lunsford was named interim head coach with three games left in the 2017 season, following Tyson Summer’s firing after going 5-13 at Georgia Southern. Of those three games Lunsford was able to pull out two wins and was later named head coach.
In the 2018 season Lunsford turned the team around and led the Eagles to a 10-3 season and a bowl game win. The 10-win season was the first for the Eagles since entering the FBS and the bowl win was the second in school history.
