JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Georgia Southern swimming squad opened up the 2017-18 season on Saturday afternoon with a tri-meet against the University of North Florida and Florida International University at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. The Eagles defeated North Florida, 138-124, while Florida International defeated Georgia Southern, 145-117.
"I was really pleased with how we swam today," Head Coach Laura Thomas said. "Our newcomers really stepped up to the plate and swam as good as they could, they showed me that they belong here. Overall I thought we swam very well as a team.
