STATESBORO, Ga. – The nearly 400 student-athletes who make up the Georgia Southern Athletics Department earned a 3.01 GPA for the 2016-2017 academic year, as announced Thursday by director of athletics Tom Kleinlein. This mark matches last year's GPA of 3.01, which was the first time in Georgia Southern athletic history that the student-athletes had reached the 3.0 threshold. This spring, the athletic GPA was 3.10, the highest single-semester GPA in the history of GS athletics.
Two hundred and forty student-athletes made the Honor Roll this spring, which accounts for over 65 percent of the department.
