STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern will honor former men's basketball coach Frank Kerns at its basketball doubleheader against ULM Jan. 16 in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Kerns, who passed away last Aug. 3 at the age of 82, will be honored prior to the tipoff of the men's game at 5 p.m. His wife, Susan, will be part of the pregame ceremony.
The four-time Trans America Athletic Conference Coach of the Year led the Eagles to five postseason appearances – three in the NCAA Tournament (1983, 1987, 1992) and two in the NIT (1988, 1989).
