STATESBORO - Georgia Southern football outscored visiting Georgia State by a 21-0 margin in the fourth quarter to capture the Georgia Grown Bowl in a 41-24 victory, in front of 25,428 fans at Paulson Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Eagles improved to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the Sun Belt with the victory, while Georgia State fell to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the league. Georgia Southern returns to action on Saturday, October 25, traveling to Arkansas State for a 7 p.m. ET showdown with the Red Wolves on ESPN+.
The fourth-largest crowd at Paulson saw a contest that featured six lead changes between the two teams through the first three quarters.
