STATESBORO – Georgia Southern Athletics honored 50 expected graduating student-athletes with a special stole ceremony Friday afternoon in the Bishop Fieldhouse. The Athletic Department handed out stoles that will be used to signify student-athletes at Saturday's Georgia Southern University commencement ceremony at Paulson Stadium where at least one member of all 17 GS athletics teams will walk across the stage.
Twenty-nine of the student-athletes also received rings signifying that they will be graduating with at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA). Those 29 are (baseball), Coltan Ramsey (baseball), (women's basketball), (men's basketball), (men's basketball), (women's basketball), (football), Matthew Flynn (football), (football), (football), (men's golf), (women's golf), (rifle), (men's soccer), (men's soccer), (women's soccer), (women's soccer), (women's soccer), (softball), (softball), (softball), (women's swimming & diving), (men's tennis), (women's tennis), (women's tennis), (women's track & field), (women's track & field), (volleyball) and (volleyball).
