Eagles Walk Away with Series Clincher, 5-2

BOONE, NC – The Georgia Southern baseball team took a 5-2 win against the App State Mountaineers at Smith Stadium on Saturday. The victory clinched the series for the Eagles and gave them a 2-0 start to Sun Belt play.

The pitchers put on a clinic for the first five innings of play, as no one was able to drive in any runs for the first two-thirds of the game. The Eagles would tag Mountaineers starter Xander Hamilton for six hits to Georgia Southern Ty Fisher's two hits allowed, but the game remained scoreless until the sixth.
