Eagles unable to overcome six walks in tournament loss to Jaguars

Georgia Southern baseball fell in the first double elimination round of the Sun Belt conference tournament Wednesday morning to South Alabama 5-3 in this game of back and forth scoring and hitting.

The Eagles were first on the board in the top of the first off a single RBI which allowed for freshman Jason Swan to make it to home plate but USA was quick to answer in the bottom of the first, also scoring off a single RBI. The Jaguars took the lead in the bottom of the fist due to a bases loaded walk.

GS tied the game up in the top of the second as sophomore Steven Curry scored off of Swan’s sacrifice pop fly, but the Jaguars added two more runs in the bottom of the second, reclaiming the lead off a two run RBI.
