BOONE, N.C. - Tripp Bryant kicked a career-high four field goals and Georgia Southern's defense made key stops down the stretch as the Eagles held off rival App State 25-23 Thursday night at Kidd Brewer Stadium in Sun Belt Conference play.
Quarterback JC French IV turned in one of his best performances of the season, completing 25 of 37 passes for a career-high 352 yards and a touchdown while adding a 3-yard rushing score. The junior directed an offense that rolled up 494 total yards and controlled the ball for more than 32 minutes as the Eagles (4-5, 2-3 Sun Belt) won for just the second time in Boone since 2007.
