NEW ORLEANS — Georgia Southern had 226 student-athletes honored by the Sun Belt Conference for their work in the classroom with the yearly release of the Academic Commissioner's List and Honor Roll on Friday by the league. It's the second-highest number of honorees for the Eagles since joining the Sun Belt in 2014.
The 226 total student-athletes includes 135 named to the Commissioner's List and 91 to the Honor Roll. In addition, eight student-athletes earned the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award.
Swimming & diving had largest number of Eagle student-athletes on the SBC Commissioner's List with 20, followed next by baseball with 16.
