STATESBORO, Ga.- Going 3-0 this weekend, the Georgia Southern men's tennis team boasts an 8-3 season record after defeating Nicholls State on Friday and Jacksonville State and SCAD on Sunday, all at home. Sunday's doubleheader consisted of a near Eagle sweep in singles, as the Blue and White won 11 of 12 matches.
"The guys played well today. They fought hard. Not all the guys brought their A-game today, but they managed to fight," head coach Sander Koning said. "Overall, I'm happy with the weekend (going) 3-0 and being undefeated at home."
Although the team dropped the doubles point against the Gamecocks in the morning, the Eagles won all of their singles matches to take the 6-1 lead.
