Winners of 10 of their last 11 ballgames, the Georgia Southern Eagles are one of the hottest baseball teams around.
The Eagles (12-5, 3-0 Sun Belt) kicked off conference play with an impressive road sweep of Appalachian State last weekend. Georgia Southern kept things rolling in the midweek, surviving a trip to Macon with an 11-10 victory over Mercer. It wasn’t the Eagles’ prettiest performance of the season, but a win is a win and, hopefully, a lesson learned.
“Maybe that game served as a wake up call for some of our guys,” GSU coach Rodney Hennon said.
