CARLSBAD, Calif. - Led by freshman Mary Miller's 70, the Georgia Southern women's golf team wrapped up its inaugural round at the NCAA Golf Championship Friday morning at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa with a 295 to put itself in good position heading into the weekend.
Miller, a freshman from Savannah, used four birdies to post a two-under-par 70 to lead the way while senior LoraLie Cowart used three birdies, including one on the final hole in front of a large crowd gathered to watch the nation's best golfers, to shoot a 73.
