CLEMSON, S.C. - The Georgia Southern women's tennis squad opened up its dual match schedule on Saturday, falling to No. 73 Clemson by a 7-0 score in Clemson, S.C.
The Tigers improve to 4-0 on the season with the win, while the Eagles start the season 0-1. The road doesn't get any easier for Georgia Southern as it will next travel to No. 12 UCF on Sunday, February 6, to take on the Knights in Orlando.
Clemson won the doubles point, then won four quick singles matches to clinch the match. Georgia Southern battled at the top of the singles lineup, however, as both Silvia Martinez Jiminez and Sophie Wagemaker pushed their matches to third-set tiebreaks.
