TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Georgia Southern opened up the 2023 season by dropping a pair of games at the Easton Leadoff Classic on Friday, hosted by No. 9 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Lehigh defeated the Eagles, 4-2, in the first game of the day. No. 9 Alabama then blanked Georgia Southern, 9-0, in five innings in the nightcap.
The Eagles will wrap up action in the Classic on Saturday by facing Lehigh at Noon and No. 9 Alabama at 2:30 p.m.

The Eagles plated a pair of runs in the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead on the Mountain Hawks.
