Charlotte, N.C. --- The Georgia Southern men's soccer team defeated the 49ers of Charlotte by a 2-0 on Thursday evening (August 21st) to start the 2025 campaign.
From the kickoff, it was clear to tell that Southern controlled the first half. Just six minutes in, a shot from Ricky Louis just outside the box grounded left and just hit the side post for the Eagles to just miss on an opportunity. With both defenses settling in, the Eagles finally broke free in the 23rd minute when a long pass from Noah Holmstrom up the pitch confused the 49ers keeper to try and make a play on the ball.
