STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics participated in the annual American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event on Friday evening, this year held at the Fair Grounds. Georgia Southern Athletics' "Eagles Soar for the Cure" was one of over 30 teams participating in the event.
"Eagles Soar for the Cure" raised over $1,350 for the cause, increasing their total from the previous year.
Over 200 GS student-athletes attended the event, representing every GS athletic team. The Eagles lined both sides of the track as survivors took the honorary first lap, and then the Eagles fell into formation and began making laps themselves.
