Coastal Carolina Walk-Off Collects 5-3 Win Over GS Softball On Friday

CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina's Mackenzie Beyer hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to snap a 3-3 tie and give the Chanticleers a 5-3 win over visiting Georgia Southern in the opening game of a Sun Belt softball series on Friday.

Coastal Carolina improves to 9-16 overall and 2-8 in the Sun Belt with the win, while Georgia Southern falls to 7-18 overall and 0-9 in the league. The two teams will wrap up their three-game Sun Belt series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.

The Chanticleers opened up scoring via the longball, getting a solo home run from Mary Sobataka in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.
