Despite a first round exit from the Sun Belt Conference tournament last month, it’s tough to say that the 2015-16 campaign for Georgia Southern men’s basketball wasn’t a success.
After losing six senior leaders and nearly all of its scoring from the previous season, the Eagles were justifiably picked to finish next to last in the Sun Belt. Armed with a squad full of freshmen and sophomores, head coach Mark Byington guided his squad from an inexperienced and mistake-prone team early in the season to a legitimate threat to put up big numbers on even the better teams in the conference.
