NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern guard Tookie Brown has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Brown tallied 32 points and five assists to lead Georgia Southern to a 102-91 home victory over Savannah State last Saturday in the Eagles' only action of the week. The junior shot 10-for-16 from the field, 5-for-8 from long distance and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.
It was the fourth time in his career he has scored 30-plus points in a game, and Brown earns the conference honor for the third time in his three seasons at Georgia Southern.
