NEW ORLEANS, La. - Ben Johnson has been named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week after his performance against the ETSU Buccaneers on Saturday, Feb. 25.
Johnson had the best performance of his career on Saturday against ETSU, pitching for seven innings of one-hit action in the 9-0 series-clinching win for Georgia Southern. Johnson sat down a career-high nine opposing batters during his time on the mound, which broke the career-high of seven he set against West Virginia a week prior. Johnson was also extremely efficient, facing only three batters in six of his seven innings on Saturday, and in the inning that he faced more than three, he only saw four.
