Barron’s 67 Helps Men’s Golf into second place at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern's Brett Barron shot 67 to lead the Eagles into second place after the first round of the Schenkel Invitational Friday at Forest Heights Country Club.

Paced by William Rainey's 68, College of Charleston (-9) shot 279 and leads the tournament, and Georgia Southern (-8) carded 280. Iowa (-7) and Lipscomb are tied for third, and fifth-ranked Florida (-5) is in fifth.

Barron (-5) is tied for second on the individual leaderboard with Raymond Knoll of Iowa. Lipscomb's Dawson Armstrong shot 66 to pace the field.
