With an extra week to get ready, the Florida Gators saw enough and decided to move on from Billy Napier as head coach. He went a combined 22-23 over the course of three-and-a-half seasons. While he did lead the Gators to a few bowl games, he failed to escape the unfortunate nickname of his being that of Sun Belt Billy. Replacing Napier will be Billy Gonzales as the interim. He will be the sixth interim head coach Florida has had in the last 36-plus years.
