In a bit of a surprise, Georgia/Vanderbilt was announced as CBS's 3:30 p.m. SEC game for September 12th. I don't know about you, but I can't remember the last time this one wasn't a noonish or 7:00 p.m. ESPN/Jefferson Pilot matchup. One could chalk it up to Vanderbilt's ascendence under Derrick Mason, except for the fact that Vanderbilt is definitely not ascending under Derrick Mason. Instead, I think we have to chalk it up to CBS expanding its slate of games to include contests the first two weeks of the season, when most of the conference is playing the UTSAs, UTEPs, and UL-Whatevers of the world.
