Former Georgia running back Elijah Holyfield patiently waited his turn in Athens, spending two seasons in the shadows of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel.
Although the big, bruising ball carrier essentially only had one season to fully showcase his talents, he did not disappoint. With the departures of Michel and Chubb, it left Holyfield and D’Andre Swift as the two primary backs to lead the Bulldogs. In 2018, Holyfield took 159 carries for 1,018 yards and 7 touchdowns. Together, he and Swift both topped the 1,000 yard mark, wearing defenses down with a combination of speed and strength.
