Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said the 2016 season was a year of “almost.” He says he has a different phrase in mind for 2017.
McGarity told a crowd at the Rotary Club of Athens that he believes the Bulldogs are ready to “get over that hump,” as reported by Nicole Saavedra of the Athens Banner-Herald.
“We were so close, but I really, truly now feel this is the year we’re going to get over that hump,” he said.
McGarity also made a point that’s not something athletic directors typically say when addressing a crowd of supporters which likely includes potential donors: Facilities aren’t king.
