Thursday was a big day for Georgia football as they lost a key member of their coaching staff. Will Muschamp, who has been a member of Georgia's coaching staff since 2021, was announced as the new Defensive Coordinator for the Texas Longhorns.
Muschamp was a co-Defensive Coordinator for Georgia during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, but for the last two years he was an off the field analyst on Kirby Smart's staff. So when Texas came calling looking for a new Defensive Coordinator, Muschamp couldn't pass up that opportunity.
If the yearly salary number I was just told for Muschamp at Texas is anywhere close to correct then he will be the highest paid coordinator in college football
