This past Saturday, during the third quarter of Southern’s road contest against Georgia, Jaguars wide receiver Devon Gales collided with Bulldogs kicker Marshall Morgan, suffering multiple spinal fractures. He’s since had successful surgery and, according to the school, has movement in his upper body. He’s also said to be in good spirits.
Wednesday, Southern’s chancellor, Ray Belton, wrote an open letter to Mark Richt and Georgia, thanking them for their willingness to help their program through the ordeal. In the note, Belton lists off all of the ways that Richt and the Bulldogs helped to ease the situation.
