S&D: Georgia Women Ranked Number One in Nation

Following an impressive open to its season, the University of Georgia women’s swimming and diving team was voted the No. 1 team in the country by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Thursday morning.

This is the first No. 1 ranking for the program since reaching the top spot on Jan. 27, 2016. Despite falling behind Stanford in the final 2016 season poll, the Bulldogs went on to top the Cardinal at the 2016 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta.

After beginning the season ranked fourth, Georgia (3-0) opened the season with three dominant wins over SEC foes South Carolina, Florida, and Auburn.
