Report: Georgia adds former Minnesota OC Jay Johnson to support staff

Georgia has added former Minnesota offensive coordinator/quarterback coach Jay Johnson as an offensive analyst, Dawgs247 reported Thursday.

Johnson, 47, was fired after one season, along with head coach Tracy Claeys and most of his staff last month.

Before his time at Minnesota, Johnson had been the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Louisiana-Lafayette from 2011-15. He held his first FBS offensive coordinator job from 2005-07 at Southern Miss.

Other coaching stops include Central Michigan, Louisville and Kansas.

Under Johnson, Minnesota finished 107th in total offense (357.2 yards per game) and 63rd in scoring offense (29.
