The recent departure of former Georgia defensive line coach Tracy Rocker came as a surprise to fans and media. It was apparently the same for Bulldogs 2017 signees recruited by Rocker.
Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution found this out when he visited a pair of schools for a series of stories on future UGA players. Forsyth (Ga.) Mary Persons coach Brian Nelson, the high school coach for four-star defensive end Malik Herring, said Rocker’s departure caught them by surprise.
“He just came walking in here one day looking at his phone and asked me if I knew what happened to Tracy Rocker,” Nelson said.
