Former LSU Tigers tight end Arik Gilbert is transferring to the University of Georgia. Gilbert announced his first destination, the University of Florida, on Jan. 31, but he later decommitted from the Gators.
Arik Gilbert was rated as a five-star recruit and the No. 1 tight end in the class of 2020. The Marietta High School star was one of the best recruits in the nation.
Gilbert caught 35 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns in eight games with LSU last season. LSU started three different quarterbacks in 2020 and never found their groove as a team.
