Things are looking a lot different for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs as opposed to last week. The former second-ranked team fell 36-16 in Baton Rouge on Saturday, causing a widespread panic amongst the Bulldog nation.
The fan base is disappointed over the loss but realistic in expectation. Few expected this 2018 Georgia team, who lost an unprecedented amount of star power (at least for Georgia), to go undefeated, and if you did, we think you might be lying.
As ESPN’s Heather Dinich points out, 13 of the 16 College Football Playoff participants have had a loss going into the tournament, with the 2017 Bulldogs being one of them.
