University of Georgia men’s tennis freshman Tyler Zink has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Bradenton, Fla., native led Georgia to its 10th-straight win against Georgia Tech this past Sunday. The Bulldogs have now defeated the Yellow Jackets in 33 of the last 34 meetings.
“Tyler is off to a great start,” head coach Manuel Diaz said. “He has already won some big matches for us, but what impresses me most is his tireless work ethic to get better every single day. Tyler is a competitor and a special young man who is going to do big things for our program.
