Five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon, a Georgia native, picked Michigan on National Signing Day, and his mom said one of the reasons he headed north is that the family didn’t like the way Georgia handled scholarship situations with other players. She also said there was no truth to the rumor that they had a beef with then-Bulldogs defensive line coach Tracy Rocker.
Sabrina Caldwell told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the staff not offering scholarships to recruit Toneil Carter and to walk-on kicker Rodrigo Blankenship played a role in her son’s decisions.
“We were concerned with the scholarship issues of those not either receiving (them) or getting it pulled, and again not our fight but it played a factor,” she said.
