Redshirt freshman Mirko Jurkovic is seeking to be medically disqualified, coach Kirby Smart confirmed on Monday evening.

“Right now, it’s not finalized yet,” Smart said before a donor reception at the Intercontinental Buckhead Hotel. “Mirko is sending in (paperwork) for a medical. We have not received that back yet. We’re still in the process.”

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Jurkovic was sidelined in 2015 after undergoing surgery for a dislocated knee cap and then had a second surgery for a dislocated knee cap this spring.
