Florida is one of the most successful programs in the history of the SEC. The average college football fan likely would want to see the Gators get back to their winning ways because it theoretically would make watching the SEC much more enjoyable.
Kirby Smart however is no average football fan. He not only coaches at Georgia who is a big rival of Florida, but he also played at UGA for four years as well. So the last team he wants to see do well in the SEC is Florida, and he made sure to make that known when he was asked about how much an improved Florida would help the perception of the SEC.
