ATHENS, Ga. — Kirby Smart delivered good news in his Monday news conference ahead of the Florida game, saying standout defensive tackle Trenton Thompson is expected to play against the Gators.
Thompson has missed the past two games with a sprained knee.
“Trenton was able to practice and do mostly everything (last week),” Smart said. “We think he’ll be fine and he’s cleared to go practice.”
Thompson has 17 tackles, with three tackles for loss. He entered the 2017 season as a potential first-round draft prospect.
Thompson isn’t the only defensive lineman that Smart expects back on the field against the Gators.
