Kirby Smart credits Gunner Stockton on game-winning TD play vs Florida

In their semi-nail-biting victory over the Florida Gators, the Georgia Bulldogs nearly didn't call their game-winning play.

Before running back Chauncey Bowens ran the ball into the end zone to put the Bulldogs up 24-20, quarterback Gunner Stockton actually had another play called into his headset. After a quick-thinking audible by the quarterback, the Dawgs had scored, and Georgia was set up to pull off the win.

In the postgame press conference, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart credited Stockton with the game-winning play, while also giving Bowens a nod for the big-time run.

Gunner Stockton's quick thinking led to UGA win

"I thought that the check on the run for the touchdown was the second-biggest play of the game because Gunner [Stockton] saw something, changed the O-Line, picked it up, and it's really hard to defend that play with them stunning the line," Smart said.
