For the Gym Dogs, this season hasn’t been about winning the SEC or nationals.
It’s been about getting better day by day. And now, with three consecutive 197s in their last three meets and the SEC Championships ahead, they’re nearing where they want to be.
“I think that’s been really apparent these last few meets is that that’s our goal,” senior Brittany Rogers said. “It’s not about beating this person, beating that person. It’s about how can we improve to be the best we can be at nationals.”
The eighth-ranked Gym Dogs (5-8) didn’t win any of their last three meets — they lost to Auburn, placed second at a meet with UCLA and Stanford and fell to Utah — but posted their three best scores since tallying a 197.
